DAVES FAVORITE BANANA BREAD
2 cups flour 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
baking powder 3 medium-large ripe
bananas (1 cup mashed)
½ teaspoon salt ½
cup sour cream
1 cup sugar ½ cup chopped nuts
2 eggs
Turn the oven
to 325. Grease a 5-by 9-inch pan, with
spray or crisco. Sift together the
flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl. In a large bowl, cream the butter using an
electric mixer. Gradually add the sugar,
scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after
each addition. Next, add the vanilla
extract and blend briefly. Set both
bowls aside. Peel the bananas and place
them in a blender and mash them. Next
add the sour cream to the bananas and stir.
Then take the bananas mixture and add to the butter mixture. Mix well then blend in the flour. Then add the chopped nuts and stir well. Dump all of the ingredients into the baking
pan and cook for one hour.
