Birthday Girl

Dave has been feeling really down lately.  He has been feeling this way because he missed our little girls first birthday last year and then he missed her second birthday this last week.  All he could think about is that he is missing on loving this little girl, giving her kisses, tickling her and holding her.  So we decided to go to Pahrump to surprise him so he could see his little girl.  We bought her a happy birthday crown so she could wear it while she talked to him.  This visit really helped to lift Dave's spirits.  Our little girl was really cute she blew kisses to him, waved to him and at the very end said Daddy I love you.  He only could see here through the monitor but it really made his day.  I was glad that we went down to see him but at the same time it breaks my heart that they won't allow any contact visits.  I know Dave would have loved to give his little girl a hug and a kiss.  But you are only allowed contact visits if you have been convicted of a crime.  Our justice system has some major problems.   They say you are innocent until proven guilty but you are treated far worse then those that are found guilty and convicted.  Dave is in a maximum security detention center.  As we were leaving our daughter said, "why do they have all these rolls of barbed wire?"  All of the barbed wire have spikes on them and they are also electric.  Our daughter said, "there is no reason to have so many rolls of barbed wire because no man can jump over the first roll."  It is amazing to me that a 10 year old is smarter and more practicle then the leaders of our justice system.  It is so sad that in America we have more prisoners than any other country.  I thought we were the land of the free.  I pray everyday that the leaders of this country will wake up and realize that our Justice system is broken and needs to be repaired immediately.  Please continue to pray for the political prisoners.  I hope that the next time I go to Pahrump will be to pick up my husband to bring him home.
